What can I expect to pay for heating this winter?
The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) publishes a forecast for residential heating fuel prices and average household heating fuel consumption and expenditures for the winter in the October through March editions of the Short Term Energy Outlook (STEO). The forecast for each winter is initially featured in the Winter Fuels Outlook of the October edition of the STEO and is published in Table WF01. Average Consumer Prices and Expenditures for Heating Fuels During the Winter in the October through March editions. The forecast includes prices, consumption, and expenditures for households heating with natural gas, heating oil, propane, and electricity on a national and regional level.
